I might be overstating the case a bit, but it could be said that late-night drives are really one of the best things in my life at the moment. There is just something about being out on the road when it seems that the whole world is asleep that is just incomparable.I like when there is no traffic, no noise, no pressure just you, the desolate streets, and whatever music suits your mood at that time.
I didn’t intentionally begin to do late-night drives. It sort of happened to me. I remember that one night when I couldn’t sleep, and my thoughts were racing, and instead of lying in bed and staring at the ceiling, I decided to leave. I had no destination or plan I just drove. Additionally, I didn’t foresee that it would provide me with so much relief.
Driving down the empty roads of the night can bring a certain calmness. During the day, life seems hectic. People honking, places to be, and responsibilities waiting for you. But at night, the world slows down. The lights are less harsh, the air seems fresher, and even the streets that are familiar to you look different. In a way, the city changes to “calm mode,” and you are not the only one who feels that you are not caught up with anything.
The thing that I am most fond of, however, is the feeling of being alone but not lonely. You are allowed to be with your thoughts and not feel dominated by them. Music also has a much greater effect. There are some songs which seem to be made only for late-night driving windows half-open, a little breeze coming in, and the bass humming through the car. And at times, the best part is when you switch the music off completely and just focus on the silence.
A late-night drive gives you the opportunity to think about those things which you choose to avoid during the day. Your goals, your friendships, your mistakes, the things you want to fix, the stuff you’re proud of. The metaphorical car becomes a little therapy room which, unlike the real ones, does not judge and does not charge $150 an hour.
Moreover, you do not have to go far. Simply driving in circles around the area where you live or going past places that used to be of significance to you can result in some of the best drives. It is the feeling, not the distance, that matters. Even a 10-minute drive can clear your head better than an entire day of “relaxing” at home.
Late-night drives cannot turn your life around, but they are still valuable as they provide a much-needed break. They allow you to unplug for a little while, inhale deeply, and then be with your own self again. To be honest, in a world that is constantly on the move, having something that slows you down is of inestimable value.
Heres a couple photos i took on my late night drive today
I would’ve laughed if someone told me years ago I’d be so tied up in basketball shoes. Back then, shoes were just something I put on my feet to avoid getting yelled at for walking around shoeless. I wasn’t interested in fancy features cushioning or grip or colors. I just wanted something that would prevent me from sliding all over the gym floor while I was hiding under a desk.
But then things moved pretty fast from there. They became something I liked, in fact something that told a little bit about me to other people.
It began with a single pair. They were nothing to write home about, just some shoes I’d seen at the store hardly worth waiting in line for. But once I popped them on, man, the game changed. I could actually grip the ground, the cushioning felt way better than walking on concrete and I just felt more confident playing around. It really was like a video game level-up, earned just for tying my shoes. I discovered that having the proper gear is a game changer.
It’s then that I began to actually take notice. The longer I played, the better and worse certain shoes made me feel. Some made me feel like I could jump higher,, as if I had springs in my feet. Others were tanks, super supportive but heavy. And then there are the feather-light shoes that are practically like being barefoot. Both had their own vibe, and it was as if you could pick the one to boost your game for the day. I also got really into it because of nostalgia around the shoes. They’re tiny time capsules by which moments endure. A mark, a scuff or bit of dirt from playing outside sends me back. I see a few pairs and I think back to the dudes that I played with, the wild shot that I made, or when we stayed late until the gym’s staff kicked us out. Be it through wearing or through keeping, those shoes have always somehow managed to make the trek along with me on my journey of self-improvement. And then there’s the creativity that goes into turning them. Brands get all out there and special when it comes to designs and new materials, some even adding cool cushioning that appears straight from science. Some are works of art, others look like they came from another planet. Oh, absolutely not every design is a winner; but as with fashion or furniture for the living, it’s always fun to anticipate what’s coming next. RockingCool shoes are definitely one of the best ways to attract attention in a crowd. Along with that, basketball shoes also make you feel more confident. Simply putting on a new pair before the match is something that just feels different. You are ready to go to the court. You are concentrated. Without even making a move, you already see yourself performing well. I know it sounds cheesy, but really good shoes are the ones that make you feel that little boost, your own shot of energy for the game. Personally, basketball shoes to me are way beyond just the gear. They signify the past, motivation, and something I really love. Each of us has that one thing, that one interest which makes us feel complete. For me, it is the shoes I am tying up every time I go to the court.
Life can be one wild ride and you may find yourself lost at times. But I know Jesus Christ is with me. He is fair, good and genuinely cares. You can see that in all He does. Jesus represents what is right. He’s the best exemplar of how to live well. It’s not an issue of adhering to rules, however; He really lived and was compassionate. This makes you want to be better, and try your best at helping others. The thing that blows me away is Jesus’ kindness. You can never screw up too much, He’ll always forgive you. He picks you up when you fall down and calls for you to come back to Him, He wants to forgive. It’s a regular offering of kindness that makes me feel refreshed all the time. When I THINKING BACK ON MY LIFE, I can see times whenHis kindness rescued me and saved my lifeTime after time. Jesus truly empathizes with everyone. He knows our anguish, our problems and our faults. When He was here, on earth, He had compassion on the sad and sick and lonely. He didn’t just speak of caring; he cared for people, healed them and helped them feel better. And he still does feel that way. He is reachable, when times are hard — and He isn’t far away. He does actually give a fuck about what you are going through. It is amazing that Jesus listens to our prayers. And he listens, however insignificant or trivial they may be. Our prayers don’t go up in smoke; God hears them. A life of living in real conversation with him bears the belief that when we talk to Jesus, though He doesn’t always answer immediately, He hears and he answers. When we want to thank the Lord, seek His mind or ask for His help, He is listening. This is why you’re never truly alone. He’s there and listening always to do the right thing by us..Last sunday i went to church ,I helped with the assembly,im just trying my best to do the best I can in everything I do.When i am in stress or in a bad mood I love to read my bible, tho sometimes it does not entirely take the stress away, but it is a great way to spend some time time to pray and meditate on his word.So that is why in today”s blog I wanted to write about God.
Late walks are something that most people consider as no big deal, a way of relaxation or time killing. However, for me, they silently change into one of my best moments within a day. When everything calms down, the world becomes quiet and empty, and I feel that it provides for me a simpler, more transparent, and more real perception of life.
Normally, I leave the house to start my nights with everything done homework, chores, talks, and everything else that keeps piling up. Cause of that, I feel better when I step outside for a walk. There is no need to hurry here.
While I am on my walk, I train my sight on the tiniest things: the light coming from the street lamp, the crackling of the leaves and the sound of the traffic, which resembles the sea waves. Here, the isolation is very different from the one I experience during daytime. I take such moments for thinking about my dreams, my mistakes, my fears and my achievements. Sometimes I even avoid indulging in thinking. I just walk and I do not mind walking.
Sometimes, it will be a runner, a neighbor walking a dog, or another student that is seen later on a walk and sitting We don’t say anything but we both know that we are taking a break.
On the way back home, I am happier: a trouble is a trifle; a thought is fresh and the pace of life appears to be slow. It is truly amazing how simple things can do so much for one’s mood.
This blog is not about walking. It involves creating and maintaining space for oneself when occupied. For me, that space is being under the street light at night. For you, it may be getting up early in the morning, listening to music, or a little time alone. It does not matter what it is, but it is important that you find it, and hold onto it.
You can learn a lot about your life by looking down at your shoes. Mine are a disaster soles are breaking away, laces barely holding on, mud stains that scoff at soap. I bought them a year ago right when I decided to give running a real shot. Honestly, I thought they would remain clean because in reality I was going to quit running, probably in a week! But here I am wearing them through storms, heatwaves, sore mornings, and “just ten minutes,” runs that became an hour! When I tied up my shoes this morning, I realized that my shoes tell a way better story about progress than an app that measures every step I take. Progress is not pretty while you are in the midst of it. It is blisters and sweating, alarms going off, and quiet do overs. More to the point, you never really feel the progress happening. But it is there. Each time I wanted to not run but restored to getting up anyhow, that was progress. Each slow jog, when I wanted to be anywhere else but on the road, that was progress. Even the lazy days when the only thing I did was stretch or take a short walk, even those were progress! That is what it is like with life in general. The same isaccurateforotherendeavorsin life, whichyou may not notice untilyoudo. You do not recognize it until it arrives that you are more fit, more creative, or your confidence issuperior; it’s the sum of all of those monotonous, tedious efforts thatmade it so. So yeah, my shoes are ugly right now. But they also might prove that small, monotonous, everyday effort works;and not just in running, but also in your life. If you are in the middle onsomeendeavor trying to bemore fit, create a side hustle, or simplygetting your life together just keep going! Don’t wait until it looks impressive. Just keep constructing small steps. Otherwise, the sum won’t be something to show for later.
